Village Of Clinton
Garbage, Recyclables, Debris, Green Waste Pick Up

Garbage, Recyclables, Large Items, Debris, Green Waste & Clean Hard Fill Collection and Pick Up Policy

An updated policy first went into effect the first week of April of 2021. This policy was revised in light of changing resources and a renewed focus on infrastructure projects critical to the Village. It applies to Village of Clinton residents only. Those outside the Village, in the Town of Kirkland, have to hire their own garbage hauler (https://www.ohswa.org/find-a-hauler/hauler-search/?ZIPCODE=13323); but also see the middle section of this page.

Please see the policy in its entirety below in the Documents section. This policy includes a statement of purpose, definitions, specific details to each type of pick up, and a schedule.

Household Garbage and Recyclables will be picked up every TUESDAY (very early morning) in the RESIDENTIAL AREA and every TUESDAY and FRIDAY (very early morning) in the COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (garbage & recyclables on Tuesday, garbage only on Fridays).

Large Items and Debris will be picked up once a month, on the LAST WEDNESDAY of the month, from APRIL through NOVEMBER. Due to snow removal, these items will no longer be picked up in January, February, March and December. The Department of Public Works or the Garbage Contractor will not pick up trash debris generated by contractors performing building renovation or tree removal. Residents need to inform their contractors to make arrangements for debris removal. Also, renters may not put furniture at the curb except at the scheduled time for pick up. Please refer to the schedule below.

Green Waste and Clean Hard Fill will be picked up on the FIRST and THIRD MONDAYS of the month, from APRIL through early DECEMBER. Monday is the scheduled day. However, if it cannot all be picked up that day, the remainder will be done on Tuesday. Due to snow removal, these items will no longer be picked up in January, February, March and late December. There is one exception: Christmas trees will be picked up in December and January.

Please refer to the schedule below.
