Village of Clinton elections
occur each year, on the third Tuesday in March from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the
Board Room of Lumbard Memorial Hall at 100 North Park Row in Clinton. Depending on the year, openings on the Village
Board include Trustee/s and/or Mayoral positions. Both positions are for
two-year terms.
If you want to run for any
positions, Independent Nominating
Petitions must be obtained either in the Village Clerk’s Office in Lumbard
Memorial Hall or online at the New York State Board of Elections site
here: https://www.elections.ny.gov/NYSBOE/download/law/IndependentNominatingPetition.pdf.
These petitions require a minimum of 50 signatures and they must be submitted
to the Oneida County Board of Elections, Union Station, 321 Main Street, 3rd Floor,
Utica, New York 13501, by the second Tuesday of February
of each year. Please note, according to New York State Election
Law § 5-108 (8) (a). An independent nominating petition
for an office to be filled at the time of a general or special village election
shall be filed not earlier than 42
days nor later than 35 days preceding the election.
